FAQ

Hank, a cartoon foreman, with one eyebrow raised like he is asking a question

Questions I get on every jobsite. Short answers. No sales pitch at the end.

Is it really free?

Yes. Free to join, free to stay. There are no fees, now or later, and nothing is sold here.

Who runs Hardhat Huddle?

The Hardhat Huddle team runs it as a research study. Hardhat Huddle is not an insurance agency and does not sell or place insurance.

Is Hank a real person?

No. Hank is a character. The study is real.

Will anyone see my name or my numbers?

No. The map shows counts and estimated totals for each group, and only once a group has at least five contractors. Names, companies and individual answers never appear anywhere public.

Why do you only ask for ballpark ranges?

Ranges are enough to measure interest. Documents like your claims history only come up later, one-on-one, if your group gets close to a review and you agree.

What is a Captive Fit Report?

A free grade you get right after the questionnaire: Strong fit, Likely fit or Not yet. It is based on what you pay a year and your claims history, with plain reasons and one next step. It is an estimate, not a quote.

What happens when my group gets close to a review?

The Hardhat Huddle team reaches out to members one-on-one to ask for real numbers. Nothing is shared with anyone without your OK. If a group or a contractor qualifies, we introduce them to licensed professionals who set up and run captives.

Do I have to join anything?

No. Getting counted commits you to nothing. Whether to look at a captive later is your call, made with licensed professionals and your real numbers.

My claims history is rough. Is there any point?

Yes. You stay counted and get a Not yet report with plain safety and claims guidance. Records change, and a better year can change your grade.

I'm not on the Gulf Coast. Can I still get counted?

Yes. Anyone in the country can get counted. Gulf Coast construction is the first group, and every other region adds up on the map the same way.

I'm in Texas and don't carry workers comp. Can I still get counted?

Yes. Answer the premium question with what you pay each year for the coverage you do carry: liability, auto and any comp. Leave out umbrella or excess.
